How to Enrol

To attend St. Peter’s Kindergarten in 2026, enrolments will be open from 1st May - 30th June for both three-year-old and four-year-old children for 2026.  Enrolments are managed through Bayside City Council's Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme.

Age Requirements

Please note all children enrolling in the 3 year old program must be 3 years of age by 30th of April in the year they start. In line with Regulations, a child cannot commence at the service until they have turned 3 years old. They are welcome to attend orientation days with a family member present.

We invite you to organise a time to discuss kinder readiness with one of our qualified teachers if you still have questions.

All children enrolling in the four year old program must turn 4 by the 30th April in the year they start 4 year old kindergarten.

Fees

Through the Victorian Department of Education ‘Free Kinder’ funding initiative, 15 hours a week (2 days) for both 3-year old and 4-year old are free.

The additional optional day for 4yo Kinder is unfunded by the government and therefore attracts a fee.

In 2025 this fee is $990 per term.

This day is offered for the full year and an annual commitment is required for staffing purposes.

  • What age do we enrol?
Age Requirements Please note all children enrolling in the 3 year old program must be 3 years of age by 30th of April in the year they start. In line with Regulations, a child cannot commence at the service until they have turned 3 years old. They are welcome to attend orientation days with a family member present.
  • Can my child repeat 3YO or 4YO kinder?
The Victorian Department of Education (DE) offers each child only two years of funded kindergarten in the years before school, being one year of 3 year old kinder and one year of 4 year old kinder / pre-school. This means that once your child starts 3YO kinder, they must move to 4YO kinder the following year. We occasionally have families requesting to pay a full fee paying place for an extra year of 3YO kinder. However, at St Peter's we offer only funded places. Only if there is evidence of two areas of developmental delay, and in collaboration with parents, it is possible to apply for an additional year of 4yo Kindergarten before starting school. This funding will only be granted if a child meets specific eligibility requirements as determined by the Department of Education, and should be applied for in consultation with your child's 4YO kindergarten Teacher. If families are unsure of a child's readiness to start 3YO kindergarten, please consult one of our Qualified Teachers.
  • What is your Immunisation policy?
"No Jab No Play" laws require that all children attending kindergarten must be immunised. Children must have an up-to-date immunisation status and an Immunisation History Statement from Medicare is the only eligible evidence and will need to be uploaded at the time of completing your enrolment form.
  • How will I know if my child has been successfully enrolled or not?
If you are successful in securing a place at St Peters you will receive an offer by email and/or SMS, which you will have seven days to accept or decline via the Bayside City Councila Kindergarten portal.

St Peter's Kindergarten is a child safe, inclusive environment where everyone has the right to feel respected, valued, safe and protected from harm, neglect and abuse.

St Peter's Kindergarten acknowledges the Bunurong and Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land, sea and waters on which we work, play and live. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
